City Leadership Council

The City Leadership Council (CLC) is a crucial part of the on-the-ground community we cultivate in each of our cities. Each VFA City has a CLC, which is composed of first and second year Fellow leaders who are in charge of leading experiences that foster connection and build relationships between Fellows and Alumni — both locally and across our cities.

CLCs help plan local gatherings or get the Fellow and Alumni community connected to events happening in the local ecosystem. CLC members will focus on leading Fellow engagement, as well as sharing stories about the Fellowship experience through social media and our website. CLC also serves as engagement drivers to recruit Fellows and Alumni for special projects at the national level. Examples include: facilitating national ideation sessions, leading regional recruitment activities, scoring Fellow applications, and judging Selection Days.

A CLC exists in each of our VFA cities and is made up of three to six Fellows (and in some cases, Alumni) who collaborate and support the VFA mission. CLC is open to all current Fellows and Alumni, no longer limited to second year Fellows.

WHAT HAS CHANGED FOR THE 2023 CLC COHORT?

There will be no more Alumni Engagement Lead. We want CLC to focus predominantly on the Fellows in the first two years of their journey with VFA. The Ecosystem Engagement Lead will be spearheading a new Ecosystem Capstone Project. More information will be coming soon about this. CLC is still open to all current Fellows.
