Community Groups

Community Groups exist to provide Fellows and Alumni with spaces to share their interests, identities, and experiences. Both Alumni and Fellows are eligible to participate in Community Groups as members and/or leads.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN VFA COMMUNITY GROUPS?

Both Alumni and current Fellows are eligible to participate in Community Groups as members and/or leads. If you find a Community Group that already exists, you can join at any time! Fill out this form for each group you wish to join. The group lead(s) will then reach out to you with information about that group. You can check out the Community Group handbook here.

HOW TO START A COMMUNITY GROUP

If you want to propose a new Community Group, there are a few pieces of information you need to confirm before you submit your proposal. Community Groups must:

  • Not already exist (check the link below and/or the handbook to see which groups are currently available to join)

  • Have at least one Fellow/Alumni who will serve as a lead for the group

  • Have at least four Fellows/Alumni interested in becoming members of the group

  • Have a shared interest or identity as the purpose of the group 

  • Be open to all Fellows/Alumni. Group does not require members to be of a certain race, ethnicity, ancestry, ability, age, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, military status, religion, or national origin

  • Have read VFA’s Diversity Statement and adheres to VFA’s commitment to creating a more inclusive entrepreneurial landscape
