Ideation Sessions

Ideation Sessions

Who

Fellows and Alumni are invited to participate in ideation sessions! You’re encouraged to host your own – in-city or virtually – or attend ones hosted by VFA’s Director of Entrepreneurship throughout the year.

What

Ideation sessions are local events for Fellows to build entrepreneurial muscle through facilitated small-group brainstorms. These sessions teach a problem-solving framework that prioritizes a deep understanding of the issue before thinking of solutions, ultimately leading to human-centered and impactful solutions.

Why

Most of us tend to jump into thinking of creative solutions before understanding the intricacies of the problem we want to solve. This can lead to wasting time creating the wrong product, or hitting dead-ends in our brainstorms because we lack full context. The aim of ideation sessions is to help build healthy entrepreneurial habits that encourage problem-first, human-centered thinking.

How

Craig Moore, VFA’s Director of Entrepreneurship, will guide you through the workshop. The topics we ideate around are flexible and never require pre-work or background knowledge. Because we are learning a framework, the topic is not as important as moving through the process. If you’d like to request particular topic for a session, reach out to Craig!
